Step 1: Zones of the learning environment

To create the optimal learning environment, we first need to focus on the space and define which activities we want to support. What should be the main function of the room and how do the surrounding rooms interact? In collaboration with learning experts, we have developed five zones that are relevant to the design of the learning environment of the future.

Step 2: Furniture

Once the functions of the room are defined, we need to consider which furniture, boards, and IT and AV devices support the desired activities of the zone. With our own solutions, we offer a wide range of products from design classics to the latest interactive products.

Step 3: Technology

The use of technology comes naturally for children and adolescents in this age. Therefore, it is important to consider the successful integration of IT and AV devices into the learning environment. There must be flexible access to information and managing interactive communication in the room must be straightforward. That way students can work together to solve a task which stimulates the learning process.

Step 4: Color

There is no doubt that interior colors can have a powerful effect on us and are crucial to how we experience a space. Through our colorguide, we work strategically while keeping the psychological effect of different colors in mind. Our interior designers create the color scheme that suits the different zones and desired functions best.

Step 5: Light and acoustics

The use of light and dark plays a big part in creating the right mood in the learning environment. Creating shady transitions and highlighting what you really want to emphasize adds to the learning experience. When it comes to supporting the desired functions in the zones, it is also important to consider sound-absorbing material, as this allows better regulation of the relationship between silence and noise.
